Start with a free hair and scalp consultation

"My hair is thinning — who should I see?" is the question that matters, and the internet can't answer it for you. Hair thinning has different causes and they need different responses. This is where you find out what's going on with yours.

What happens at your consultation

Time that replaces months of guessing.

1
Assessment
Your hair, scalp and history looked at properly — pattern, timing, triggers and family history. Haaris may ask you to send photographs beforehand, so the conversation starts with the question that matters: is treatment worth discussing at all?
2
Honest options
Every route that's relevant to you, explained fairly — including the ones we don't offer, and including doing nothing.
3
Your plan
A personalised plan built around your situation — what it includes is decided together, in person.
The personalised plan

Built around you, not a menu

Depending on what the assessment finds, a plan may involve scalp and hair care guidance, lifestyle factors, suitable products, treatment such as PRP where appropriate, monitoring over time — or a referral if what we find needs a different professional.

What it never involves: being handed a pre-decided package, or choosing treatments off a list before anyone has looked at you. Where prescription treatment might be relevant, that is discussed at the consultation, as the law and good practice require.

Before you book

My hair is thinning — who should I see?

It depends on what is happening. Sudden, patchy or painful hair loss, or hair loss alongside other symptoms, deserves a medical review first, and you'll be told plainly if that's you. For gradual thinning, a hair and scalp consultation with a pharmacist is a sensible, low-risk starting point: you get an assessment, honest options and a plan, without committing to treatment. Our guide to who to see about hair loss compares trichologists, dermatologists, GPs and pharmacist-led clinics fairly.

Is a hair loss specialist the same as a trichologist?

No, and the difference is worth knowing. Haaris is a GPhC-registered pharmacist, not a trichologist or a dermatologist. What that means in practice is a registered healthcare professional, trained in medicines and their effects on hair, who assesses properly, explains the options fairly, treats where it is appropriate and refers you onward when someone else is the better answer.

Is this just a sales pitch for PRP?

No. Some consultations end with "PRP could be worth considering". Others end with reassurance, a care plan, or a referral to someone better placed to help. The assessment decides, not a sales target — and some people are advised against treatment altogether.

What does the consultation cost, and what happens next?

The consultation is free and there is no obligation to book treatment afterwards. If a course of PRP is recommended and you decide to go ahead, the prices are published plainly before you commit to anything. You can also read how PRP works and who it may and may not suit beforehand.

Stop guessing. Get looked at properly.

A free consultation with someone qualified beats months of second-guessing.
