What is PRP under eyes?
PRP under eyes — also written under-eye PRP, and sometimes called PRP eye treatment — uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood, applied carefully to the delicate area beneath the eyes. PRP for dark circles is sometimes considered where the cause is suitable for treatment, and the whole process happens in one appointment at Birches Head Pharmacy in Stoke-on-Trent.
Can PRP under eyes go wrong?
The area under the eye is delicate, which is exactly why it is assessed in person first and treated carefully. As with any injectable procedure there can be temporary redness, tenderness, bruising or swelling, usually settling within a few days. What causes dark circles?
Dark circles have several possible causes: inherited pigmentation, thinning skin with age, hollowing under the eye, and lifestyle factors such as sleep. Not all of these respond to PRP — which is why your consultation starts with an honest look at what is driving yours.
What does the evidence say for the under-eye area?
Honestly: it's more limited than the evidence for hair. Research into PRP and related platelet preparations around the eyes is encouraging, but studies use different preparations, schedules and outcome measures — so results can't be treated as proof that any one clinic protocol will do the same for everybody. The defensible position, and the one we take, is that PRP may help selected skin-quality or pigment-related concerns for some people. It is not a proven answer to every hollow, eye bag or cause of darkness — and it is not a volume treatment.
What will Haaris not promise?
To remove every dark circle, to replace lost volume, or to make the area look a set number of years younger. The goal has to be specific to your cause and modest enough to assess honestly. With your consent, progress is photographed consistently, and the review asks a plain question: has there been enough change to justify any further treatment?
What should I do if something feels wrong afterwards?
Follow the written clinic aftercare rather than generic advice online, and contact the clinic directly if any effect is unexpected, worsening or worrying you — you'll have a direct route back to us. Urgent eye symptoms — changes to your vision, severe pain, or marked and rapidly increasing swelling — need urgent medical assessment, not a clinic callback.
Is PRP under eyes right for me?
That depends on the cause of your dark circles and your skin.
